Vinyl finishing is not only becoming increasingly popular with super yachts with large budgets but it is commonly becoming the everyday paint option for a lot of yacht owners. Compared with the cost of repainting, wraps are fantastically competitive, durable and long-lasting, allowing you to transform your vessel for a fraction of the cost of a spray job.

WrapPros can transform the appearance of your boat within a few days, giving it a new look that will last from six to eight years.

The self-adhesive vinyl used is hard-wearing, durable and will not fade or go cloudy like paint or gel-coat. It is also easy to clean and very easy to repair. The wrap protects your boat from the elements, including damaging UV rays.

Our skilled installer team can quickly and easily wrap your boat. The bigger the vessel the greater the saving over traditional paint options. Typically, a wrap will cost a third of the price of paint or gel-coat. Detailing can give your boat a unique look. With the use of specialty effect vinyls such as leather effect, chrome, carbon, pearlescent and matt vinyls, you can breathe a completely new look to your boat interior and exterior. Areas that you might consider refurbishing; Dashboards, Masts, bulkheads, Nav stations, tables, cockpits, fly-bridges and dinghies.

Boats ranging from cruisers, racing yachts and Super yachts are now being transformed  right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale.

With the advent of modern day vinyls, a vinyl finish or boat wrap is a quality choice and beneficial alternative to painting your boat. Many well-known boat manufacturers are now choosing vinyl over conventional methods such as paint and gel-coat. The process offers customers unrivaled choice in terms of color and design – and can be easily reversed if the boat is sold on.

Whether your boat needs a completely new face lift, a small repair, protection or a new color, a vinyl finish could well be the solution for you.

What you have to know about wrapping your boat

Installation Process & General Facts

The boat or yacht must be out of the water when we install the hull wrap. (Interior and deck work can be done on the water.)

We are using only the highest quality marine grade vinyl films 3M and HEXIS.

The hull wrap on a 50’ boat takes about 2-3 days, on an 80’ - 100’ yacht about 4 days.

Vinyl wrap is up to three times less expensive than traditional painting.

The vinyl has a great resistance but it can be damaged by coming alongside with no fenders down. If you are not hitting anything vinyl can be as stable as the best paints and is certainly better than gel coat. Vinyl fairs very well against fender wear.

We prepare the surface of the hull by cleaning it. The vinyl comes in different lengths and widths, however the average size is 150 feet long and 60 inches wide. If your boat or yacht is larger and we have to put joins, we’ll use places where it will be difficult to see. The joins are basically invisibles you see them only if you know where to look.

The big advantage of the vinyl film it’s far easier to remove it or repair it than the paint.

Preparation for boat wraps:

To perform the installation, we insist on stripping the boat down as much as possible, so rub-rails, trolling motors, and any additional hardware pieces are removed. The wrap is applied in just three pieces, one for each side of the boat, and one for the back, with the only seam being on the nose. This helps the wrap maintain its durability.

• We use a solvent-based cleaner, not alcohol-based, to thoroughly remove any wax residue on the boat. This will ensure the most thorough cleaning.

• We apply the wrap above the static water line.

• We use just one panel of film per side to avoid seams.

• We seal all seams and edges with edge sealing tape.

Customizing a boat has become more affordable for owners in recent years, thanks to the transition of the industry from custom painting to graphic wraps.
