WRAP VS. PAINT

Before you think that a paint job is your only option, consider the facts about boat wraps. We’ll going to show you the two methods side by side to help you make your decision: permanence, installation time, cost, and appearance.

WRAP                                PAINT

A quality installed and properly cared wrap will last for about 5-6 years. The wraps are    completely removable, and while they are on the car, they act as a protection for the car's original paint job. Removable means:

•By protecting the paint you're maintaining the resell value.

•You won't be negating the terms of your lease agreement by painting your boat or car.

A quality paint job is a  a permanent feature of your vehicle, which is great if you're committed to that specific shade or design for the rest of the car's life. However if it hasn't been properly sanded or primed may result in discoloration or flaking after a few years and probably won't last as long as you would have liked.

Quality vehicle wraps depending on the car and materials being used, it will cost between $1,500 and $5,000. The boat wraps mostly depending on the size of the hull and the depth of the waterline. In most cases Vinyl wrap is up to three times less expensive than traditional painting.

Similar to vehicle wraps, paint jobs vary in cost and quality too. They can range from as little as $800 to as much as $15,000 for very high end custom work. A well done paint job requires a lot of work, with priming, and alternating layers of paint and sanding. Cheaper paint jobs tend to skip important steps, which won't be nice after a few years. Quality custom paint jobs will cost more than vehicle wraps.

Once your design proof is approved (if we are printing), your vehicle wrap will go into production. After we've printed everything or ordered your material, the wrap can be installed in as little as 1-2 days, depending on how complicated and curvy your vehicle is. The boats and yachts depending on the size can be done in the same time frame. Usually after the wrap is installed we’ll keep your vehicle for 24 hours to be sure that everything is perfect and the wrap don’t need any correction.

Painting time and quality varies from shop to shop.

Because painting requires sanding between coats, it can take a while for paint to dry, and then be reapplied. For a custom, high end paint job you can expect your car to be in the shop for up to two weeks. If you have a boat it can take up to 3-4 weeks depending on the size.

If you're looking for a custom texture like carbon fiber, snake skin, leather, fish scale or chrome looks a wrap is definitely the way to go. Wrap materials come in many textures.

A wrap is also a good idea if you're only looking to accent parts of your car like the mirrors or spoiler.

Painting textures are impossible. Specific colors you can do but if you go with the wrap it will cost you only a fracture of the price.
